Dornod "Hepatitis Free Mongolia" Closing Ceremony, 2019
From September 2017 to June 2019, FIRE conducted "Hepatitis Free Mongolia" in every county of Dornod Province, Mongolia. 5,017 people were tested for hepatitis B and C, liver cancer, fatty liver, cirrhosis. This project took the first FibroScan machine to rural Mongolia, outside Ulaanbaatar. Health care workers were trained through classroom training and bedside training. We conducted a community awareness fair and other activities. We also provided 2,000 people with hepatitis B vaccine. FIRE also launched their Hepatitis Coordinator training program in Dornod for health care workers, social workers and community members.
